About the role
Assist Food Banks Mississauga in supervising and training Food Sorting Volunteers to ensure excellence and accuracy in their duties while contributing to a meaningful experience for volunteers. Build valuable experience and develop leadership and communication skills while making a difference in your community.
Responsibilities
Provide orientation to an individual or group of new volunteers, going over health and safety policies and food sorting procedures to ensure food sorting accuracy.
Support and coordinate volunteers effectively according to tasks and quantities of food.
Maintain tidiness and cleanliness of the food sorting area.
Replenish unsorted food using a manual pallet jack.
Receive ongoing, hands-on training and support from the Warehouse Operations Volunteer Lead and other Food Sorting Leads.
Participate in this role on a trial basis to determine best fit.
