About the opportunity
Rally your co-workers together and join Food Banks Mississauga during a Pop-Up Food Bank in the Acorn Place community! You will get hands-on experience distributing food to your local community, see the impact you are making with your support and learn about the leadership role we play in our network across Mississauga.
Please note that a minimum donation of $500 per shift is required to participate in our Acorn Place Pop-Up Food Bank Corporate Volunteering Program.
Your contribution will support us and our network of 65+ agency members who serve over 35,000 food bank users every year. Thank you for your generosity and willingness to make a difference.
Responsibilities
You will engage with clients through friendly, service-oriented conversation while providing them with fresh food.
Assist with unloading food from Food Banks Mississauga’s trucks and bringing it into the Acorn Place facility.
Sort and bag fresh fruit and vegetables to prepare for distribution.
Lift and distribute pre-packed hampers (weighing up to 25 lbs) to clients for the duration of the shift.
Set up tables and signage for the Pop-Up Food Bank.
Assist with tear down and clean up.
