About the role

Join us as Event Experience Lead Volunteer for the first annual Face Off Against Hunger event. This role will serve to support Food Banks Mississauga staff to raise funds for neighbours facing food insecurity in Mississauga.

Responsibilities

  • Design participant journey from registration through event day

  • Coordinate welcome package and swag bags

  • Oversee skills rink and family activities

  • Plan entertainment and announcements

  • Manage awards ceremony experience

  • Create run of show

  • Develop post-event survey and collect participant feedback

Qualifications

19 years of age or older with a mature and positive attitude
3-5 years experience with event planning, coordinating, and execution; previous volunteer experience preferred
Ability to design engaging and creative family activities and skills rink challenges
Proven public speaking skills
Background in managing small groups
Exceptional organization and time management
Capacity to be active and stand for an extended period of time (8+ hours) on event day
Lifting capabilities (35+ lbs)
Strong written and spoken English skills; other languages are a plus
Professional email and phone etiquette
Access to a personal computer and cell phone required
Respect diverse perspectives
Capability to build and maintain positive working relationships

Time commitment

15-20 hours per month

September 2026 - June 2027

Location

Virtual, with one in-person meeting monthly on the third Wednesday of every month; attendance on event day (May 1, 2027)
