When Your Neighbours Need Help, You Deliver
Your generosity brings nutritious food right to the doors of homebound neighbours through our Food Bank 2 Home Delivery Program.
“I was scared,” Jerry* says.
“I didn’t have much money for food, and I couldn’t go outside. How was I going to get it?”
Thankfully, Jerry—a senior who lives alone and is visually impaired—was referred to our Food Bank 2 Home Delivery Program. Thanks to the support of caring neighbours like you and our dedicated team of staff and over 80 volunteers, 783 homebound seniors are getting healthy food delivered right to their doors.
In the past year, Food Bank 2 Home delivered food for over 200,000 meals to neighbours like Jerry. The only program of its kind in Mississauga, clients can order the foods that meet their unique dietary and cultural needs.
“The first time they arrived, I was so happy,” shares Marilyn*, another Food Bank 2 Home client. “I didn’t have any eggs, milk, anything. And I didn’t have any money.”
But your support means much more than nutritious food on the table.

For Jerry, Food Bank 2 Home brings much-needed relief.
“Since the program kicked in, I’m good,” he shares. But living alone, there’s something he appreciates even more—the human connection.
Jerry looks forward to the phone call letting him know his food is on the way and checking in on how he’s doing—or a chat with his volunteer delivery driver.
“It’s great to hear your voice, believe me.”
Seeing this need for connection, Food Banks Mississauga launched Client Connect last year, regularly reaching out to homebound or isolated clients to check in and be a listening ear.
