Enjoy Free, Family-Friendly Fun This Summer in Mississauga!

Rising costs don’t have to put a pause on your summer plans! Mississauga is full of vibrant, free activities that make it easy to enjoy the season with your loved ones. From weekly movie nights under the stars and free outdoor concerts to cultural festivals and ongoing programs you can register for, there’s something for everyone. Whether you’re exploring local parks, enjoying community events, or diving into the city’s rich cultural offerings, you can make the most of summer without breaking the bank. We’ve rounded up some of the best events and experiences to help you celebrate the season in true Mississauga style.

Canada Day Events

Canada Day #INThePort

Celebrate Canada Day with fireworks, fun and a Ferris wheel #INThePort! The Canada Day #INThePort festival will transform Port Credit into a bustling street party. Enjoy live music, street performers, food vendors, and family-friendly activities and a kids’ zone with engaging activities, all leading up to a stunning fireworks finale.

Streetsville Canada Day Streetfest

The Streetsville Canada Day StreetFest 2026, presented by Visit Mississauga, will feature a vintage car show, live music and entertainment, inflatables, family crafts and activities, a drone show, and a fireworks finale!

Tong Le Seniors Association & Donghai Seniors Association: Canada Day Celebration Event

This Canada Day celebration, hosted by the Tong Le Seniors Association and Donghai Seniors Association is free for all ages and will take place at J.C. Saddington Park from 9 am – 12 pm. This community gathering will feature singing, dancing, Tai Chi demonstrations, delicious food, and lucky draws!

Fireworks at Celebration Square

Come out on July 1, 2026 (4:00 pm – 10:30 pm) at Celebration Square for live music from bbno$, Aiona Santana, Tedy, and Sauga Sound Collective, freestyle soccer shows, 25+ food trucks, family fun zones, and DJ Jelz — culminating in a fireworks grand finale presented by Tim Hortons at 10 pm. Don’t miss the splash parties, face painters, and roaming bubble artists!

Weekend Festivals & Events

Sunday, June 21: National Indigenous Peoples Day

Celebrate Indigenous culture, creativity, and community at Celebration Square on June 21! There will be performances from DJ Kookum & Qattuu, Manitou Mkwa Singers, MR. SAUGA, and Tia Wood! You can also shop handcrafted goods and jewelry at the Artisan Marketplace. This free, accessible, family-friendly event is hosted in collaboration with the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation.

Friday, June 26 – Saturday, June 27: Living With Wellness Arts Festival

Celebrate wellness, creativity, and culture at the Living With Wellness Arts Festival. This full-day event is packed with family-friendly experiences designed to nourish your body, mind, and spirit—right in the heart of Mississauga.

Saturday, June 27: Multiculturalism Fun Day

The Mississauga Chinese Arts Organization is hosting a Multiculturalism Fun Day from 2:30 pm – 5:30 pm on Saturday, June 27 at Streetsville Memorial Park! This free event will feature multicultural performances and community engagement activities!

Saturday, June 27: Garden Day at Brueckner Rhododendron Gardens

Interested in learning more about gardening? Check out Garden Day at Brueckner Rhododendron Gardens from 10 am – 12 pm on June 27! This free event will feature several exhibitors and a tour of the park (offered by the Riverwood Conservancy)! Learn more here.

Saturday, July 4 – Sunday, July 5: Jollof Fest Mississauga

Free for all ages, the Jollof Fest Mississauga will feature Jollof rice competitions and tastings, live music, cultural performances, fashion showcases, a diverse vendor marketplace, and interactive exhibits. There will also be dedicated children’s activities, games, entertainment, and cultural experiences designed for all ages!

Friday, July 10 – Sunday, July 12: Jackalope Mississauga

If you’re a fan of skateboarding, bouldering, MOTO X and BMX, BASE jumping, and more, check out Jackalope Mississauga at Celebration Square to witness world-class competitions and demonstrations! This event takes place from 5 pm on Friday, July 10th to Sunday, July 12th, and is free for all ages.

Friday, July 10 – Sunday, July 12: Colombia Festival

Come enjoy a celebration of music, culture, dance, and family-friendly fun at the Colombia en Mississauga Festival! This event ($10 for adults, children under 12 are free) takes place at Port Credit Memorial Park and will feature live music, folk dance groups, a kids zone, traditional Colombian food, and even a parade at 12pm on Sunday! And guess what? Food Banks Mississauga will be there all three days!

Saturday, July 18 – Sunday, July 19: Mississauga First Nation Traditional Powwow

Mississauga First Nation is hosting its 45th annual traditional powwow on Saturday, July 18th, and Sunday, July 19th, within the Mississauga First Nation territory. Admission is free for all attendees, and everyone is welcome! Individuals from all communities are invited to join in the celebration. Saturday, July 18: RED FM Summer Bhangra Jam

On Saturday, July 18, head down to Celebration Square from 12 pm to 11 pm for the RED FM Summer Bhangra Jam! This Punjabi Music Festival features a free concert with international Punjabi superstars, Bhangra performances, food trucks, dancing, shopping, a Kids Zone, fashion shows, a senior lounge, and more. The whole family can enjoy this event with free admission, parking, and arts.

Friday, July 17 – Sunday, July 19: Mississauga Asian Night Market

The Mississauga 3rd Annual Asian Night Market is a lively outdoor festival atmosphere filled with Asian food vendors, artisan booths, cultural showcases, live performances, and family entertainment. The night market will take place at Square One P6 Parking Lot and is “one of the most anticipated summer festivals in Mississauga!”

Friday, July 24 – Sunday, July 26: BollywoodMonster Mashup

The BollywoodMonster Mashup is a free, multi-day South Asian arts festival at Celebration Square from Friday, July 24th to Sunday, July 26th. This free, family-friendly event features international Bollywood stars, music and dance performances, and more! This event has free entry, arts and games, and a seniors’ area.

Friday, July 31 – Saturday, Aug. 1: Mosaic Festival

Celebrate the richness of South Asian Canadian art, culture, heritage, and cuisine at Celebration Square from Friday, July 31st to Saturday, August 1st. The 21st annual Mosaic Festival is free for all ages and will feature internationally popular and local singers, dangers, and musicians. Kids can enjoy free balloon animals making, arts and crafts workshops, and a children’s parade!

Saturday, Aug. 7 – Sunday, Aug. 9: Mississauga Latin Festival

From Friday, August 7th to Sunday, August 9th, celebrate 18 years of the Mississauga Latin Festival! Celebration Square is the place to go this weekend for all things Latin culture – music and dance, traditional dishes, beautiful crafts, and a children’s area. This event is free for all ages! Food Banks Mississauga will also be attending, so drop by our booth and say hi!

Saturday, Aug. 15 – Sunday, Aug. 16: Japan Festival Canada

Experience the best of Japanese culture, food, and technology at Japan Festival Canada – the largest Japanese cultural event in North America! Located at Celebration Square, the festival takes place from noon to 10 pm on Saturday, August 15th, and from 11 am to 7 pm on Sunday, August 16th – free for all ages.

Friday, Aug. 21 – Saturday, Aug. 22: Mississauga Italfest Festival

Mississauga Italfest is Mississauga’s first and premier Italian festival, and was named one of the Top Festivals and Events in Ontario from 2016 to 2025. This free event, located at Celebration Square, starts in the evening of Friday, August 21st, and lasts until Saturday, August 22nd. With a musicans, art and history exhibits, kid shows and family attractions, bocce tournaments and soccer showdowns – this event is bound to be fun for the whole family!

Friday, Aug. 28 – Sunday, Aug. 30: MuslimFest

Celebrate Mississauga’s rich Muslim arts and culture at this 3-day MuslimFest event at Celebration Square! Starting at 2 pm on Friday, August 28th, and continuing until 7 pm on Sunday, August 30th, this event is free for all ages.

Friday, Aug. 28 – Sunday, Aug. 30: Mississauga FAME Festival

Check out Mississauga FAME Festival, a three-day outdoor music and culinary festival in the Square One P3 parking lot that will feature live entertainment, global food vendors, and a high-energy night market atmosphere. This night market starts at 3 pm and goes to 11 pm and promises to be a vibrant celebration of the diverse cultures of Mississauga!

Saturday, Sept. 5 – Saturday, Sept. 6: The Egyptian Coptic Festival

Celebrate Egyptian culture, history and arts at the Egyptian Coptic Festival! Enjoy family fun, music, shows, documentaries, kids activities, vendors and traditional food at this 2-day festival on September 5 and 6 at Celebration Square.

Friday, Sept. 11 – Sunday, Sept. 13: Philippine Festival Mississauga

Celebrate Filipino heritage and cultural diversity at the Philippine Festival Mississauga! This free 3-day festival (September 11th – 13th) takes place at Celebration Square and features Filipino food, music, arts, and culture. There’s something for everyone at this family-friendly event! Food Banks Mississauga will also be attending, so drop by our booth and say hi!

Friday, Sept. 18 – Saturday, Sept. 19: AfroCan – Roots & Rhythms

Experience a world of vibrant energy and rich heritage at the inaugural AfroCan – Roots & Rhythms Fest! This 2-day free, family-friendly event at Celebration Square on September 18 and 19 will feature crafts, food, music, games, and demonstrations from the Caribbean and the continent of Africa!

Markets & Expos

Sunday, May 24 – Oct.25: Lakeview Farmers’ Market

The Lakeview Farmers’ Market takes places every Sunday from May 24 – October 25 at the historic Small Arms Inspection Building. The Market offers a welcoming, family-friendly atmosphere where folks can shop for local produce and handcrafted goods, enjoy live music, and connect with their neighbours!

Wednesday, June 3 – Oct. 14: Central Lions Farmers Market

Presented by the Mississauga Central Lions Club, these Wednesday markets will have fresh fruit, vegetables, local baked goods, and other tasty treats available for purchase. The markets will take place at Celebration Square from 8 am – 3pm from Wednesday, June 3rd – Wednesday, October 14th!

Saturdays, June 6 – Oct.10: Port Credit Farmers Market

Hosted every Saturday from 8 am – 2 pm in the Port Credit library parking lot, the Port Credit Farmers Market offers farm-fresh produce, baked goods, microgreens, gourmet cheeses & butters, delicious treats, artisan vendors, live music, family activations, and so much more!

Friday, July 3 and Friday, Aug. 7: Streetsville First Friday Night Markets

On Friday, July 3rd and Friday, August 7th, the Streetsville Village Square will host a First Friday in the ‘Ville – a monthly night market. Enjoy art, food, live music, and local crafts exploring your community’s creative spirit. Get more details here!

Sunday, July 12: 2nd Annual Mississauga GeekCon

Calling all self-proclaimed geeks! The Mississauga GeekCon will take place from 11 am – 4 pm on Sunday, July 12th at the Army Navy & Airforce Veteranas Club. This 2nd annual expo offers free entry, but identify as “the epicentre of all things collectible!”

Saturday, July 18: Summer Market

The Mom Market (Peel Region) is hosting a Summer Market from 10 am – 4 pm on Saturday, July 18th at the Small Arms Inspection Building. This market is free for all ages and will feature 40 local businesses, a kids corner, face painting, photo opportunities, great music, and more!

Saturday, July 25: Sanskriti Haat

This one-of-a-kind free-entry marketplace will feature talented artisans, unique crafts, delicious food, and soulful music! The family-friendly market will be held at the Vic Johnston Community Centre.

 

ReclaimFRESH Food Rescue Program Volunteers

Ongoing Free Activities

To participate in the following ongoing free activities, you must sign up online or borrow a pass.

Volunteer at Food Banks Mississauga

Sign up to volunteer with our ReclaimFRESH Food Rescue Program! Sort fresh and frozen food in our warehouse for distribution to neighbours in need through our network of 60+ agency members across the city. Children who want to volunteer must be at least 9 years old and be accompanied by an adult. Any youth volunteers 14 years of age and older can volunteer independently if they choose.

Visit the Peel Art Gallery

With a Mississauga Public Library card, you can get a “PAMA Family General Admission Pass” that allows free admission to the Peel Art Gallery for you and your family (up to 2 adults and 5 children).

Explore Mississauga’s Natural Beauty

With a Mississauga Public Library card, you can borrow a pass to visit the Credit Valley Conservation area or any Toronto and Region Conservation Authority (TRCA) parks for free. TRCA Parks include the Black Creek Pioneer Village, Bruce’s Mill Conservation Park, Heart Lake Conservation Park, and more! You can also get an Ontario Parks Pass to access and visit over 100 provincial parks for free.

Discover Egyptian History in Mississauga

Learn all about Egyptian history at the Egyptian Museum. Families with children under six can visit the Egyptian Museum for free. Plus, take advantage of the 50% discount for tickets, which means they’re only $10 each.

Sauga Summer Pass

Teens aged 12–16 can ride MiWay, swim, and access fitness centres for free this summer with the Sauga Summer Pass—available June 27th to September 1st.

Bike around the city for free

Explore Mississauga on two wheels during free guided community rides held on select Saturdays across the city from May – October 2026. All rides begin at 10 AM and include free refreshments. Join Mississauga’s Bike Challenge by logging your rides–every 50 km logged adds a tree to the One Million Trees program. A fun way to stay active and give back!

Swim for free

Cool down with free fun swims at Mississauga’s indoor and outdoor pools! These drop-in swim sessions are perfect for families and youth looking to beat the heat and stay active without spending a cent.

Scheduled Weekly Activities

Friday Nights: On the Verandah Outdoor Concert Series

On Fridays from June 3rd to August 14th, the Benares Historic House is hosting “On the Verandah” concerts. These free, outdoor music series will offer performances that span the musical spectrum! (The concert is free however a collection is taken at intermission. Recommended $10 donation per person. Half goes to the Performers and half to Friends of the Museums to support Mississauga Museum events and educational programs.)

June 11 – July 19: FIFA World Cup 2026 screenings

Between June 11 and July 19, the city will be hosting soccer watch parties for select FIFA World Cup matches. Bring your friends and family down to Celebration Square to cheer on your favourite teams! The watch parties are free and accessible to all. Check out the screening schedule here.

June 19 – August 2: Learn to Fish

This free 2-hour fishing program on the Lakefront Promenade combines a 1-hour practical teaching session with an hour of supervised hands-on fishing! All required fishing equipment is provided, but registration is required and children under the age of 18 must be registered and accompanied by an adult. Wednesday Mornings: Open Air Storytime

Join the interactive storytelling time every Wednesday morning from July 8th to August 12th (10:30 am –11:30 am) at Celebration Square. These library-led sessions feature stories, songs, rhymes, and interactive play—all in the fresh air.

Wednesdays Evenings: Fresh Air Fitness

From June 3rd through September 9th (7 pm – 8 pm), join Fresh Air Fitness at Celebration Square for free, instructor-led outdoor workouts every Wednesday evening. Each session features a new class format—Zumba, Total Body Mix, Yoga, Bollywood, Pilates—so you can mix it up and stay motivated all summer long.

Saturday Nights: Salsa in the square

Get ready to dance the night away at Salsa in the Square, happening on select Saturday evenings this summer at Streetsville Village Square. From 6:30 pm to 9:30 pm, Omega Latin Dance brings the energy with free beginner-friendly salsa and bachata lessons—no experience needed!

Sunday Nights: Movie Nights in The Square

On select Sunday evenings (June 28, July 12, August 9, September 6), head down to the Streetsville Village Square for a free outdoor movie night! Bring your family, blankets, and lawn chairs to enjoy a family-friendly movie!
