Today we are shining the spotlight on two of our incredible food sorting lead volunteers, Sam and Gia!
Sisters Sam and Gia have been volunteering with The Mississauga Food Bank since January 2021 at the height of the pandemic.
“We searched for any organization that needed volunteers urgently. The pandemic made us appreciate what we have and invoked the urge to make a difference in our community. Food should not be a privilege, itβs a right everyone should have. You never know when your situation can change, so itβs amazing that the food bank provides an option for people that need it.”
With honesty and integrity being some of their utmost priority in searching for volunteer opportunities, Sam and Gia decided to join our team as food sorting leaders.
“We wanted to ensure we were giving our time to an organization that valued honesty and integrity. We were truly amazed at how The Mississauga Food Bank facilitated its day-to-day operations and how large of an impact they have made on the community. We knew this was the place for us, and we are glad we chose this organization. There is no other rewarding feeling than lending a helping hand to someone who needs it.”
Thanks for choosing to volunteer with us, Sam and Gia! Your hard work and dedication are an inspiration to our entire team.
