Today we are shining the spotlight on Sukaina Sumar-Ebrahim, our Corporate Partnerships Officer!
In her role, Sukaina engages with our corporate donors to allow for a meaningful and mutually beneficial partnership.
“The most rewarding part of my job is the success when I’m able to identify the elements of a donor’s goal in giving back and matching those motivations to ensure the outcome is a win-win relationship is rewarding. It’s gratifying to use my skills and experience to do good and serve our community.”
Sukaina has been with The Mississauga Food Bank for almost 6 months now. During this time, she has seen first-hand how our donors, volunteers, and staff’s efforts and resources impact our hungry neighbours’ lives.
“This past month, I was in the warehouse when I observed a woman in hijab, a baby in her arms, and a little boy (maybe 7-8 years old) translating for his mom as they collected emergency food hampers. It was back in May, the Islamic month of Ramadan. I will never forget that image. It reminded me of why I do what I do. It reminded me to always be grateful for what I have and that I’m blessed to be doing meaningful work for real impact.”
Sukaina, thank you for everything you do at The Mississauga Food Bank; we are so lucky to have you!
