Community Group Volunteering
Bring your team of up to 12 people to support neighbours facing food insecurity with a food sorting volunteer shift!
About the opportunity
*Now booking for February & March, 2024!*
You can organize your school or classroom, sports team, faith group or another community group for a great community-building activity while also giving back to neighbours in need! Help make a positive impact on your community – all you need is 3 hours. You will spend time sorting and packing food donations to prepare them to be distributed through our network of 60+ agency members across Mississauga.
Sort food donations according to best before dates, package integrity, and food type to prepare them to be distributed to neighbours through our network, and inspect and package food donations to ensure they meet health and safety requirements.
Build, pack, label, scan, and stack food boxes, and recycle packaging materials, bale cardboard, etc.
Clean up the food sorting area with fellow volunteers at the end of the shift.
